Business Development Manager - Boat Acquisition
We are looking for a highly motivated, personable and experienced sales professional to acquire boat owners by building relationships with marina managers and their berth holders.
This is a new role in a new industry so your main asset will be proving that you can apply your previous sales experience to this exciting job. You will be responsible for activating our marina model through direct sales channels. In simple terms this means getting boat owners to list their boat at bedsonboard.com so it’s ready to rent to overnight guests and earn them money to help pay their running costs.
This is a full time role based in our Lymington office but with frequent travel to UK marinas and events.
Key tasks
- Developing relationships with target marinas
- Contacting & meeting boat owners to sign them up, via marina staff relationships, on site presence, marina roadshows, boat shows and other events, referrals from other owners, phoning owners from the Beds on Board database
- Identifying support services in each marina
- Identifying marketing contacts within each marina
- Reporting regularly and accurately on the current status of marina and berth holder engagement

- Build sustainable relationships with marinas
- Deliver the Beds on Board vision to marina staff and their berth holders
Salary: £35k-£40k OTE

We are looking for a hands-on, flexible and focused Growth Manager to help the co-founders prove the scalability of the concept through full funnel growth on both sides of the marketplace, in line with their strategy and funding goals.
Our Growth Manager will have hands on experience in delivering successful acquisition marketing campaigns and be responsible for several key channels.
The Role
The role job has three main areas: to help define our growth plan, to plan, manage and execute programs for that growth and to optimize the revenue funnel.
You will have a broad and deep understanding of digital marketing including experience with PPC campaigns and be comfortable looking at emerging platforms. You’ll definitely be able to demonstrate tangible commercial success in previous campaigns that you have managed and be able to clearly show where your role began and end in that campaign.
Being able to express (and sell) a concept is essential, so you’ll be able to write or bash out a layout. You’ll be excited to help shape our strategy and activity in CRM, CRO, ROI and loads of other TLAs.
You’ll love data driven decisions and not be offended by being called a growth hacker or a bit of a nerd.
Key tasks
- Develop a holistic, progressive and data driven growth marketing plan
- Take ownership of marketing activity across all channels, including email, social media, PPC, SEO
- Optimise & iterate all campaigns and activities to improve full funnel growth
- Establish metrics and methods for optimising our full funnel growth
- Living in website analytics to optimise user engagement, click through rates and funnel conversion
- Overseeing creative development of digital assets
- Produce regular reports and provide other statistics as required to understand ROI
