Stay on a boat in Cheshunt, United Kingdom

A wonderful boat with loads of character. Traditional vintage features add a cosy feel. Fully equipped kitchen with oven and fridge. Hot showers although bear in mind you have to run the engine to heat the water, for around 30 minutes each morning / evening. Located Around the Cheshunt / Broxbourne area. Beautiful, peaceful rural area with lots of walking routes in the Lea Valley. With the train station close by, you can get to central london in 20 minutes. I will meet you to show you the ropes! I live on the boat and rent it out whilst I’m away. So another thing to bear in mind is that my belongings are on the boat and I ask you to be respectful and pay for any damages. I can leave a big drawer empty for clothes if needed but remember this is a boat, not your usual hotel / air BnB room... space is compact (but fabulous) so pack lightly! No party’s or other guests please.

The double bed is located at the back of the boat, separated from the main gully by the bathroom / walls. The living area has a sofa and desk. The kitchen has an oven, sink and fridge. There is outside seating at the front of the boat.

Fridge, kitchen utensils, oven, shower, compost toilet (this will be emptied before you arrive, the liquids container needs to be emptied every few days, the solids will not need emptying during your stay if under 3-4 weeks. It looks and feels like a normal toilet), cosy living area, 12 volt charging station for phones (USB or ciggerette lighter type attachments) bear in mind you can charge laptops at local cafe. No WiFi but you should be able to hotspot from your phone.

Quiet and relaxing. There is a small town close to the station with supermarket, a few pubs and restaurants.

What's special about this boat

Sitting on the roof, watching the sun set whilst coots maintain their nests. If you’re brave enough you can even go for a dip in one of the gorgeous lakes!

The holiday we spent onboard Kelly’s classic narrow boat was wonderful. Really enjoyed the experience laying out on the boats roof in the sun was a highlight. Kelly was very hospitable and was available to answer all our questions when we checked in. Kelly also made herself availability via text during our stay as we settled into the narrow boat lifestyle.

Kelly was a gracious host and her boat, was such a pleasure. I wanted to try out life on a canal boat and the experience was beyond all that I had imagined it would be! So much fun to take on the daily duties of upkeep and was no difficulty at all as the vessel was clean and tidy and as shipshape as could be. I would highly recommend a stay on Daisy to veteran houseboaters and curious newbies alike. Thanks Kelly!
