Stay on a boat in Hamble-le-Rice, United Kingdom

Freya is a cosy 8 metre sailing yacht, berthed at the closest marina to the beautiful village of Hamble on the Solent, with pubs and restaurants only a short stroll away. The Banana Wharf Restaurant is 50m from the mooring and offers a varied menu available to suit all tastes and diets.

The Marina’s facilities are of a very high standard, meeting all social distancing and covid standards of cleaning: there are exceptional showers and laundry rooms available for your use.
The River Hamble is an idyllic, tranquil location in which you can relax, but has the added attraction of being accessible to the Historic Dockyards and great shopping Gunwharf Quays provides in Portsmouth or Southampton shopping, whilst also not being far from the Isle of Wight.
Close to the mooring, there are walks to beaches, often with few people on them; there are cycling routes; a ferry to picturesque Warsash and the pub filmed in the BBC TV series ‘Howard’s Way’, the Jolly Sailor is nearby, along with a host of others for you to enjoy the scenery in and the local food. If you want to cater on board, there is a small kitchen (galley) with a microwave, electricity with kettle, electric coolbox, bottled water, TV & DVD.
Outside on deck, you can sit and unwind in the evening around the table, with a drink or evening meal as the sun sets.
Bedding/towels are not provided.

Layout

Two Cabins:
Main cabin ( comfortable couches convert into bunks)
Has a small galley area with sink and bottled water, a kettle, toaster is supplied plus cool-box.
4 bunks ( 2 convert into large doubles)
Luxury Toilets and showers are at the end of the Jetty in the Marina.
The front cabin has a double V berth (with infill if needed)
Please note reduced headroom.
Main cabin has TV/DVD
Outside is enough room for 4 people.
Please respect the deck only use soft shoes onboard
No heels or hard shoes please.

Onboard

If you want 5* luxury then please book the Ritz! However, if you want a fun glamping style experience in a lovely setting and to sit outside on deck enjoying a drink in a lovely marina, then this is for you.

Free parking onsite with permit provided.
Showers and toilet facilities.
Banana Wharf restaurant and bar just off the jetty with marina views.
Many pubs & restaurants in Hamble- Le- Rice village.
Catch the water taxi for a trip up and down the hamble £2.50 each to the Jolly sailor or the Rising Sun at Warsash.

Excellent fun, so different. Cosy comfy fun - nice to sit around the table on the decking. Great loos / shower in marina ( 50 yds away). Not swanky stuff - be practical and we had a great time. Mark v helpful
