Stay on a boat in Gosport, United Kingdom
A well maintained and spacious boat located close to many attractions in the Portsmouth area - great for families.
The Rodman 1250 is a 'walk around boat' with two cabins and generous living space, including a lounge area and a furnished galley.
Beds on Board Comment: "'Sofia Maria' is an immaculate, spotless and spacious flybridge boat. The owners take great pride in preparing her for guests and there are lots of nice touches. She's normally berthed close to the excellent Trinity's Lightship which is great bar and restaurant. Haslar Marina has some of the best facilities on the south coast and the view over Portsmouth, the Spinnaker Tower and the Historic Ships is unbeatable. Sofia Maria is perfect for a family of four or two couples. Don't hesitate - just book her!"
We are ideally looking for 2 night stays, especially at weekends and bank holidays but get in touch if you would like a 1 night stay and I will try to accommodate this if I can
1 bath room
1 x double cabin
1 x twin cabin
On the lower deck you can walk around the boat to sit at the bow or the stern to enjoy the peaceful ambience of the harbour.
There are steps to access the fly-bridge where you can sit and enjoy the peace.
There is so much to do! Try a walk on the shingle beach at Stokes Bay or crossing the harbour to Southsea Common.
The 3km waterfront trail passes the marina, linking the Submarine Museum to Priddy's Hard and the Explosion Museum. Cross the water to Portsmouth for the Historic Dockyard, home to the Mary Rose, HMS Warrior and HMS Victory.
Old Portsmouth has beautiful buildings and interesting pubs, and you can walk along the fortifications towards Henry VIII's Southsea Castle.
A trip up the Spinnaker Tower is a must!

Boat had most things you need and Steve was there to meet us. Enjoyed the marina views from the top deck and watching the ferries passing by. Trinity Lighthouse and Trinity Restaurant were good. Easy parking at the marina.
Lovely 2 night stay on very clean and well kept boat, greeted by Steve the owner who had been very helpful throughout.
Lovely stay. Steve and his son were available by phone throughout in case we needed anything. For some reason, both the fire alarms went off at 4:30am, which was unpleasant, but otherwise a nice little holiday.
The Boat That Rocked (just enough)
My oldest son and I love Portmouth and Southsea and usually stay in hotels however the thought of getting quite a different view of a familiar place from the water itself sounded both interesting and unusual and so it proved to be. The boat had been moored at Haslar Marina in Gosport for the duration of our visit and was on an outer pontoon, close to the marina's lightship that contained showers, toilets, a laundry, a bar and a restaurant. Apart from its proximity to all these ammenities the boat's mooring provided wonderful views across or the naval dockyard and the Spinaker Tower. Steve , the owner met us upon arrival and showed us around the boat that had been beautifully prepared for our stay with towels, tea, coffee, water and so on. We so enjoyed our stay; each time a ship passed on the main channel our craft rocked gently at its mooring - all very restful. We ate on the lightship itself on the first night and at the marina's other restaurant on the second night; both meals were delicious and excellent value for money. Steve was a thoughtful host who enabled us to have a happy weekend by providing all the information we needed and advance and preparing the boat with great care. We certainly hope to join him again soon.
Great boat, great host
We stayed a couple of nights on Sophia Marie during the summer holidays. Steve had thought of everything. He provided clear and thorough information, making our stay simple and most memorable. I thoroughly recommend.
