    The Area

Mylor Yacht Harbour is tucked away among the tree lined creeks and rivers of an area known as the Carrick Roads, near Falmouth on the south coast of Cornwall.

The marina is protected from the prevailing South Westerly winds and offers a sheltered haven for yachts persons with everything a visitor and boat owner could need in one place.

Whether you are here to enjoy the scenery and wildlife, watersports, the stunning coastal walks and cycle trails, a spot of paddling or simply to daydream and watch the world go by, it is all here on your doorstep.

The entire area is protected as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, from the mouth which has St Anthony Lighthouse (aka Fraggle Rock) to one side and Pendennis Castle to the other, deep into the tree lined creeks to Truro. It is home to many wading birds, seals and otters, not to mention all the basking sharks and dolphins that come into the Roads to feed.

    What's special about this boat

The marina are within easy walking distance (1¼ miles / 2km) of the village of Mylor Bridge, where there are shops for basic provisions. Alternatively, walk to Flushing (about the same distance but over the hill) and take the ferry to the centre of Falmouth for a wide range of shopping and entertainment facilities - a small supermarket is close to the ferry landing.

Although there are no bus services from Mylor Yacht Harbour, there are regular services to Falmouth, Truro and other locations from Mylor Bridge and Flushing.

Aquacab's Mylor Shuttle service runs an hourly water bus service from May to September between Mylor YH and the Prince of Wales Pier, Falmouth. Aquacab's Fast Water Taxi service will take you anywhere you wish to go in the estuary - so you can still get to the Pandora for a quick pint or two and not worry about who's driving!

For those who enjoy walking, there are some delightful rambles in the vicinity. The Fal Estuary and its surroundings are an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' and provide an exceptionally fine area for exploration. There are numerous creeks accessible to dinghies or boats of shallow draft. It is possible to go as far as Truro by water, taking account of the tides.
