There are points on the river you can safely swim in, plus Thorpe Park 5 minutes walk away, with rides, cycling, Thorpe Water Park and lake waterskiing, and swimming pools. The River Thames is on your doorstep with the additional Staines high street shops and Chertsey station only a short distance away, and Old Chertsey is enchanting with bars, coffee bars and individual shops.

We booked House of Tribes for the August Bank Holiday weekend, and despite the weather being rather unkind, we had a fantastic time on board. The boat is very well-equipped, spotlessly clean and is very cosy. The mooring is a lovely quiet spot which allows you to get away from things, and watch the world go by. Plenty of places to visit nearby incl. Thorpe Aqua Park, Windsor, Runnymede, and good food options in and around Staines. Also well worth hiring a small boat from the end of the jetty and spending a couple of hours travelling up and down the Thames.

My husband and I and our two young children had a fantastic time in Lyndsay's barge. It was really comfortable and quiet, and such a unique thing to do. The geese and ducks were very friendly and the children loved feeding them! I would highly recommend staying there!
