Spent nearly a week on this lovely boat, really close to the bars and restaurants which was great as my wife has ms and can't walk too far, la gomera is a lovely quiet island, and is a bit like going back 30 years to how Spain was! Boat was great and Dave who greeted us was brilliant. Can't say much more than we 100% would recommend. The only downside was constantly being on eBay looking for boats to buy!
Lovely stay on board the Mariachi a 45 foot motor yacht. Dave and Jim were extremely accomadating from highlights of the yacht to highlights of the town. If you ever get a chance I highly recommend this holiday. From sitting on the rear deck you have the island as a backdrop. Views are some of the best I have ever had not one you can get from a hotel room.the town prices were very reasonable about half english prices or more. So meals out were not a burden but sometimes just a bottle of wine and some local cheese and crackers is all that's needed from the rear deck of a lovely 45 foot motor yacht. I highly recommend this holiday for anyone who wants a real getaway to a local culture. With any luck we will back again.
Dave at Canary Sail made us very welcome despite our late arrival on a sunday night. The Yacht is extremely spacious and well equipped and the welcome pack of tea, coffee, sugar, milk, bread, butter, water and ice made for a relaxed start to the holiday. Marina facilities comprising shower, toilets and launderette as well as helpful office, are very good. Security at the marina is excellent with card operated gates. The marina is ideally located for a short walk into town where there are many good reasonably priced restaurants. There are at least 3 supermarkets with a good range of produce and the wine and beer are cheap!! Bus station is again near by (the biggest supermarket is located beneath it) and there is a good value bus service to all parts of the island which was heavily used by walkers going to the national park. There is also a very good ferry service connecting San Sebastian to Playa de Santiago and Valle Gran Rey allowing a bus trip one way and the ferry back. Dave was very helpful and its clear Canary Sail is a very proffessional RYA training outfit with at least 3 sailing craft moored next to us. We are are boaters and were keen to try something different for a change.Whilst this was our first stay on a boat abroad it wont be our last.
Very comfortable boat. The marina is located in town. Great holidays.
Wonderful few days...far too short!
Thanks so much to Dave, Vicky and Jim for letting out their gorgeous Carver 40 to us. The boat was perfect for the two of us and we very much appreciated the small touch of a comprehensive welcome pack! Great standards of everything and Dave couldn't have been more helpful. We treated the boat like our own and hope future guests do the same so that we can visit again in the future! We took the car but didn't feel the need to leave the locality! Many thanks indeed to all at CanarySail.com! Dave and Zoë
