Stay on a boat in Hamble-le-Rice, UK
Beds on Board Comment "Shropshire Lady II is a smart, clean and tidy 3-cabin, 8 berth yacht in one of the best berths in Port hamble, as close as possible to the excellent Banana Wharf restaurant & bar plus the car park and marina showers/facilities without suffering from noise. Kathy enjoys meeting and greeting her guests to ensure they understand how everything works and where everything is. That large cockpit with cockpit table is a great place for an evening gin & tonic!"
To keep you snug and warm the boat permanently has a heater and dehumidifier on in the winter. As well as that she has central heating in every cabin when turned on. Extra blankets can be provided. She is fully lit up on the pontoon and also lots of lights and hot water on the boat, although the showers are nearby.
Offering 1 double cabin in the fore peak, two single in the saloon and two double cabins in the stern of the boat if you decide on more than the default price for two
Located a few minutes from Hamble and on the first pontoon from the car park.

A short drive from Hamble is the well known"Jolly Sailor" Pub where the famous "Howards Way" was filmed. Excellent food and river views. The "Blue Star" restaurant is a short walk away along the foreshore and beach which does excellent breakfasts, coffee and cakes If you want to get over to Warsash rather than drive around there is the "Pink" ferry which runs daily. For children there is crabbing off the foreshore.
What's special about this boat
The yacht is a Bavaria which has a well-deserved/reputation for building yachts. Is moored on the first pontoon from the car park directly opposite Banana Wharf for eating and drinking. A full handover will be given at no charge and no charge for checkout. The owner lives close to the village and is on hand. The boat is maintained and cleaned to a high standard and smells fresh and airy. There is lovely low level lighting if needed. Lots of storage, especially for bottles! Excellent price. The cockpit provides a lovely sitting area with cup holders and teak table. Speakers in the cockpit. There is deck lighting. Compare it to a 3 cabin yacht in "The Jolly Harbour" Antigua which is listed at £1,400 for a week. Official checkout time is 10.00 but can be later if boat not needed!

The Lovely Shropshire a Lady in a Hamble & the Lovely Kathy
We stayed onboard the absolutely lovely Shropshire Lady in Oct 2017, and loved it. Kathy was very helpful & accommodating & everything was do easy. The Banana Wharf Marina Hamble & its facilities are lovely like that of a high class hotel. Really really enjoyed our stay. Thank you Kathy & Beds on Board. Thoroughly recommended.
Great yacht located on a prime mooring in a excelent marina. The boat is well equiped with everything you need and the owner could not be more helpful.
Lovely boat - Great location
Kathy was very helpful during our stay. The boat is ideally located within 5 mins walk of the centre of the Hamble and all the pubs and restaurants. The facilities at the marina are excellent and we had a lovely time!
Very pleasant owner and boat, no problems at all, Dave
A lovely sunny weekend on the Hamble
We stayed in Shropshire lady on a Saturday night and did some kayak trips up and down the hamble on each day. The booking and check in were easy and hassle free - we just phoned Kathy 15 mins before we arrived at the marina and she met us with a complimentary 24 hour car park pass for the pay and display car park saving us £10 which was much appreciated. The boat is moored quite close to the land so near enough to the loos for showers etc and to the Banana Wharf Restuarant for food and drinks. We opted to walk into the village (very close and had lots of nice pubs and eating places as well as a convenience store) on Saturday night and had a lovely meal in the pretty gardens at the River Rat. Accommodation on board was simple and clean - we had a sheet duvet and pillows provided for the front cabin and bought our own sleeping bag and pillow for the seat bed in the lounge area. There is a cool box/fridge to keep drinks cold - we were told it was best to bring a bag of ice to start things off and it seemed to work fine! We didn’t cook on board but made some tea and coffee (provided) using the electric kettle. It was lovely to sit on deck in the evening for a drink and chat and the marina was atmospheric rather than noisy! All in all a great and very different night away - we were blessed with lovely sunny weather which obviously made the whole weekend absolutely perfect!
Shropshire Lady 2
Stayed on board Shropshire Lady 2. Had great fun! Kathy couldnt be more helpful, tea, coffee, milk and met us on arrival in the car park. Great fun to wake up in the marina to full sunshine and a cooked breakfast in the Marina! Definately recommend.
I Stayed on the Shropshire lady for new years eve. We had an absolutely lovely time, the boat was clean, warm and cozy and Kathy was a great host, very helpful! Can't wait to stay again!
