    Overall Rating:

    Excellent Experience

    June 4, 2017

We have just come back from an excellent few days aboard “Jamaican Poppy”. I was surprised and delighted by the comfort offered by a boat of this size. Our 6’2” son joined us and we had some delightful evenings eating and drinking on board in real comfort. I expected the beds to be “ok” but they were very comfortable indeed. The location cannot be faulted give that it is circa 10 minutes walk into Christchurch centre. Communication with the owner was excellent and he even sent his son ‘round with some flowers on the first day. The only negative is that the shower block is a good 5 minute walk from the boat which was no problem for us but could present a problem if you had small children and / or it was raining. The vessel is opposite a working boatyard which starts work at 8:00am Mon – Friday but we were up before then anyway. All in all we would highly recommend this “venue” and I cannot imagine ever booking in a hotel in Christchurch again unless “Jamaican Poppy” was unavailable.
