    Overview

Stay on a boat in Maryport, United Kingdom.

Two cabins and a wheelhouse; twin v berths and a double; perfect mam, dad, children or adventurers; no smoking but perfect cockpit for drinks!
Captain's own accommodation - wood lined and varnished, characterful, atmospheric, distinctively club-like; compact and functional with cooking and washing facilities; marina toilets and showers close by.
You'll fall asleep to the lapping waves and sweet ozone. It is no glitzy hotel however. It is a real boat and needs commonsense and some agility to get around it

About the marina/waterway Maryport delivered coal to the world; Argentina, the Baltic, Ireland, Mexico. It is the legendary home of St Patrick; the Roman port which supplied Hadrian's Wall; the town which inspired the Titanic. To the West, Its sunsets are legendary; Scotland, Criffel and the wilderness of Galloway, the inspired poetry of Robbie Burns are a few miles across the wild and deadly Solway Firth, deservedly a AONB and designated a MCZ. And in the distance, the Isle of Man and Ireland. To the East, just a bus ride away, the Lake District, the Cumberland Mountains, Cockermouth and Keswick. To the North, by bus or train, is Gretna Green, Scotland, Carlisle, the Solway Marshes bird sanctuaries, the wild heritage of the Border Reivers, and the Viking's stake and haaf net fishing for salmon. The area was immortalised by Sir Walter Scott, Wordsworth and Melvyn Bragg. Come and see why!
