Relaxing stay in the heart of Hamble
A lovely traditional sailing boat with all the essentials! Edmund couldn't have been a more accommodating host and ensured our stay was wonderful. Located in close proximity to many wonderful pubs in Hamble and perfect for a stroll along the water.
Great Boat Great Location hassle free would highly recommend best regards Gerald
Absolutely amazing time, great position close to all amenities. The Yatch was clean and comfortable with amazing views. Ed was a great host and will definitely be going again!
Quaint yacht in a super stylish marina 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
We stayed on board Captain Edmund’s yacht, and she had lots of character and charm, nestled amongst an array of yachts, set in a super stylish marina, with great facilities. Walking distance to a very pretty village and lots of lovely pubs. We were spoiled for choice when it came to walking our dog, and we highly recommend taking the pink ferry (£1.50pp) across the river and taking the walk via the Jolly Sailor pub (6 mile walk). We fell in love with the idea of living on board our own sailing yacht that Edmund was kind enough to take us out for a sail and teach us the “ropes”, or should I say “lines”, actually, they are called “sheets”. We had the perfect week, and although the boat is one of the smaller ones, it had all the space we needed for the two of us and our dog and will absolutely be coming back, to not only enjoy the comforts of Moon Cloud, but to also spend some time with Ed, either sailing or enjoying a post sail drink together. Absolutely recommend Moon Cloud to anyone looking to stay in the Hamble area 👌🏼👌🏼
We had a great stay on Edmund's yacht. The local village has some great places to eat and drink. We went to the New Forest and even visited as far as Bournemouth. A fantastic base!
Great location, facilities, owners so helpful
Moon Cloud is a great base to be... nestled among range of yachts in Hamble Marina. Walk up the pontoon and you have 5 star personal shower rooms, a nice bistro restaurant and all the chandleries, goings on of a large marina - but it is very peaceful on board. 10 mins walk up lit footpath to Co-op and top of Hamble's narrow street with cafe, pubs and boat slip/park. Personal free parking is really convenient. Eddie and Heather are really helpful and friendly - brought us table we could sit at in cabin to eat - sandwiches, beer as the sun goes down as the rigging taps gently around you is a happy memory. Reason for 4 star is that yacht was really a bit small for family of 4 to sleep comfortably and store things so it took a few nights to settle. It also took us a few hours to air cabin out after we arrived. However the 4 of us had great time and would come back again.
The boat was in an ideal location for the local shops, bars, restaurants and sailing clubs. The boat is showing its age now and is a little tired looking but all of the facilities are in working order. Having the heads so close to the bed was a little quirky. The owner was very kind with tea, coffee, sugar and milk on board, along with a nice little box of chocolates.
Great last minute trip
We had a great overnight stay. Edmund was amazing and very welcoming. We found the Boat excellent for 2 adults and 2 small kids and the marina facilities were incredible. We have not stayed at this marina before but overall location to town makes it a great place to stay.
